The 2006 laureate of Eesti Pank's research award is Katrin Männik
The 2006 research award of Eesti Pank (35,000 kroons) was granted to Katrin Männik, doctoral candidate at the University of Tartu, for her research on the autonomy of the local subsidiaries of multinational corporations and the impact thereof on their productivity. The research award was issued for the fourth time. The aim of the research competition is to value the acquisition of a scientific degree by young people, to stimulate scientific research in the field of economics, and to show recognition for outstanding research. The Eesti Pank research award, which is dedicated to the memory of Urmas Sepp, former Head of the Research Department, will be presented to the winner at the conference "Estonia's Economic Policy Perspectives in the European Union" held in Tartu on 29 June. The title of the winning paper is "The Impact of the Autonomy on the Performance in a Multinational Corporation's Subsidiary in Transition Countries".
