On 9 September, Eesti Pank is issuing a silver collector coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Estonian National Opera. The denomination of the coin is 100 kroons.
The obverse of the coin, designed by the artist Tiiu Kirsipuu, bears the national coat of arms of the Republic of Estonia, the text "Eesti Vabariik", and the year of issue - 2006. On the reverse there is a stylised image of the Estonian National Opera House with a note the theatre was established in 1906, and the denomination of the coin. The producer of the coins is the Mint of Finland and the maximum number minted is up to 10,000. The proof-quality collector coins are made of pure silver (Ag 999/1000), their diameter is 38.61 millimetres and weight 28.28 grams.
The price of a coin is 500 kroons. The coins will be on sale on Saturday, 9 September at 12:00 at the Eesti Pank Museum and the souvenir stand of the Estonian National Opera. The Eesti Pank Museum is open from Wednesday to Saturday.
