Today, June 30; Governor of Eesti Pank ANDRES LIPSTOK will open the exhibition "Song Festivals throughout
Times" at the Museum of Eesti Pank. The exhibition is dedicated to the forthcoming Song and Dance Festival, as well as to the renowned
Estonian composer and choir conductor Gustav Ernesaks, from whose birth 100 years passed in December last year.
The display
provides an overview of Song Festivals since the first one up to now. The exhibition includes souvenirs, participants' badges, medals, historical items
related to the festivals, literature, posters, photos, personal belongings of Gustav Ernesaks, and a lot more. The display was prepared from his personal
collection by Aleks Kivinuk and designed by Eesti Pank's Layout Designer Urmas Raidma.
The opening
speech of the central bank governor Andres Lipstokis followed by an overview of the Song Festival tradition given by the establisher of the Tartu Song Festival Museum
and consultant to the Tartu City Museum Heivi Pullerits. Then Aleks Kivinuk will speak about the display and the event is concluded by the Chamber
Choir of Eesti Pank.

Visitors are welcome to the see the display starting from Wednesday, 1 July, in the usual opening hours of the museum. The Museum of Eesti Pank is open from Wednesday to Friday 12.00-17.00 and on Saturdays 11.00-16.00. The museum is located at Estonia pst 11 and there is no entrance fee. The exhibition remains open until 3 October 2009.
