OPENING AN ACCOUNT IN ESTONIA

1. I would like to open an account with your bank.
Sorry, you cannot open an account with a national central bank. Please address your inquiries to any Estonian commercial bank - the full contact list is available our website at: Financial institutions operating in Estonia.

2. Where is it possible to find the price list of the services of Eesti Pank?
Eesti Pank is the central bank of Estonia and does not perform any commercial activities. The main tasks of Eesti Pank are: implementation of independent monetary policy; supervision of financial stability and organisation of cash circulation in Estonia (read more on our homepage at About Eesti Pank).

3. When a foreigner would like to open an account in Estonia what are the conditions?
There are no restrictions to foreigners wishing to open an account in Estonia. The specific terms, conditions and requirements can be obtained from the commercial financial institutions. Usually it is sufficient if you present your identification (ID-card or passport) at the bank.

VARIOUS STATISTICS

1. I am interested in any figures detailing the current economic status (GDP, price indices, etc.)
The statistical database of the Statistical Office of Estonia is available at www.stat.ee/statistics. The most important statistical indicators can also be found on the web site of Eesti Pank (see Statistical indicators -> Most important indicators in short).

2. I am interested in information on Estonian FDI by countries. On your website the available data begins in 1994. I would appreciate it if you could advise me as to how to obtain data for earlier periods.
Unfortunately the FDI figures by countries are not available for earlier periods. The format of data collection before 1994 did not include such information.

3. I would like to know what is the average interest rate in Estonia.
The average interest rates are published on the web site of Eesti Pank: Statistical Indicators->Financial sector statistics-> chapter 6 Interest rates.

NUMISMATIC ISSUES

1. Is it possible to obtain new banknotes that have not been in circulation?
New banknotes that have not been in use are laminated and available for purchase at the Museum of Eesti Pank (muuseum@epbe.ee) and you can order them by mail. Conditions and price list can be found on our web site at: Collectors' information.

2. I am a collector of euro coins. When and how is it possible to get the Estonian euro coins?
Eesti Pank will not sell any numismatic euro-items before the changeover to the euro. But you can subscribe for news on the front-page (see News by e-mail). Please select the topic "Banknotes and coins", write your e-mail address into the textbox and finally press the button "Subscribe". This is an automatic system, which informs you about changes and news concerning Estonian banknotes and coins.

3. I am interested in Estonian commemorative coins. How can I buy them?
