The 5th Membership of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank

According to the Eesti Pank Act, the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank is the highest organizational body of the Bank consisting of the Chairman and seven other members.

On 18 June 1998 Riigikogu took a decision to appoint Mart Sõrg Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank. The decision came into effect on 1 July 1998.
According to the Eesti Pank Act, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board is appointed for a term of five years.
On 12 June 2003 Riigikogu appointed Mart Sõrg Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank for a second term, which ended on 12 June 2008.
By a decision of Riigikogu of 13 May 2008 Jaan Sven Männik was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board from 13 June 2008.

According to the Eesti Pank Act, Riigikogu appoints the members of the Supervisory Board for a term of five years. Each succeeding Supervisory Board terminates the authorization of the preceding one.

On 17 February 2004 Riigikogu appointed Raul Eamets, Andres Lipstok, Enn Listra, Mart Opmann, Tõnis Palts, Jüri Sepp and Liina Tõnisson members of the Board.

On 24 January 2006 Riigikogu adopted a decision to appoint Harri Õunapuu replacement member of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank.

If a member of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank is appointed as a member of the Government of the Republic or commences work at Eesti Pank, the Riigikogu shall, on the proposal of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank, appoint an alternate member of the Supervisory Board whose authority terminates when the member of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank leaves the office which precludes his or her membership of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank or when he or she ceases to be employed at Eesti Pank. Due to appointment to the office of Governor of Eesti Pank, Andres Lipstok's membership of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank is discontinued.
