The Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank discussed the central bank's strategy for 2008-2010
Today, 29 January, a regular meeting of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank was held. The Supervisory Board discussed Eesti Pank's strategy for 2008-2010. The strategy establishes the primary objectives of Eesti Pank for the coming years, proceeding from the main task of the central bank - to ensure price stability in Estonia. Among other things the strategy prescribes that the necessary technical preparations for the adoption of the euro and further development of up-to-date payment systems will continue. One of the most relevant objectives is to integrate the Estonian monetary policy environment and market operations with those of the Economic and Monetary Union. The Supervisory Board was also provided an overview of the current situation and development of the Estonian financial sector. The next regular meeting of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank will be held on 19 February 2008.
