Andres Lipstok participates in the meeting of the Council of Economic and Finance Ministers

Governor of Eesti Pank Mr Andres Lipstok attends the informal ECOFIN meeting held on 4 and 5 April in Slovenia. The two-day meeting focuses on financial stability related issues, discussing the latest financial market developments and problems related to financial supervision with the main emphasis on cross-border supervision and cooperation. In addition, the meeting participants discuss the development of securities settlement systems in the EU, preparations for the IMF spring meeting and the quality of public finances, this time focusing on social expenditure.

The informal ECOFIN meetings, where also central bank representatives are invited, take place biannually in the EU presidency country. Since in 2008, Slovenia presides over the Council of the European Union, the meeting takes place in Brdo.
